I have to miss one of my dearest friend's wedding this weekend :(

All Lacquered Up: Reveal

Hi Friends!

I'm writing today to tell you all about my Lacquered Up Reveal!

I was super excited when Angela and Meghan decided to do this swap because 1) I LOVE nail polish and 2) I LOVE swaps. If you've never done one you should.

My swap partner was Evani and I was so excited to have her! If you want to see what I sent her click Here

Funny story... we have VERY similar tastes in nail polish! Evani sent me these amazing colors and they are 2 of my faves from Essie. I go through these 2 color schemes like no other.

She also sent me some adorable pencils for my desk! I haven't taken them to school because things on my desk tend to disappear, especially pencils. BUT I love using them at home ;)

That's all for now!

Meet Trouble AND Sunday Social!

Hi Friends!

Wow, I can't believe it's been a week since I've blogged. Well... actually I can. You see last Sunday I received a text asking if I would be willing to foster a pug. Of course I said yes! Monday night after work I got this little bundle!

Hi! I'm Trouble!

So now I have an adorable little pug until he gets adopted by a loving family. I love him to pieces however he requires a lot of attention (as all dogs do) and add in a VERY long work week (1 night I was at school for 14 hours!) it's been a little hard to blog. #SorryI'mNotSorry

1. 5 items you can't live without on a daily basis(water, food, shelter, and clothes dont count)

Elle's Top 5 Essentials

Elle's Top 5 Essentials
1) Chevy Cruze
2) Lilly Pulitzer Agenda
3) Iphone w/ Kate Spade case
4) Macbook
5) Fossil Watch

2. All time favorite book? Why?
The Bible. I try to live my life by it and it always has the best advice for any situation.

 3. Something you'd like to accomplish before the end of 2012
I would like to feel financially in control. I'm in the process of doing it now :)

4. If you could go back and relive any year of your life which year would it be?
I don't think I would go back to any year. None really stand out to me as being super amazing and I'm really loving where I am now.

  5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?
I've been through alot in my short 24 years. I have experiences that you wouldn't want to imagine and I have a lot more wisdom because of those experiences.

Sunday Social

Happy Happy Sunday!! I am so ready for today and for the new week. I'll explain tomorrow so make sure you check back ;)

For today thought I am once again linking up with Neely and Ashley for Sunday Social!
1. What is the name of your blog and how did you come up with it??
 - My previous name was A College Girl's Guide to Life which was great when I was in school. Just this past summer I decided to update the name since I have a "grown up" job now. I started to think of the things I believe in most and realized many of them and people came into my life through Faith and/or Serendipity.

2. What do you love the most about blogging??
-I love meeting all my bloggy friends. It's nice to know that other people are going through the same things I am. There is always someone to talk to and fun, new finds.

3. What are your 2 favorite posts you've written?
- I really like posts that show my true self so my 2 favorites are Elleisms and Kyle's Bachelorette Party

4. What is something you'd want to tell someone just starting out in blog world?
- I can't say that I'm an expert in this because I'm just starting out as well. I would say don't be afraid to be yourself. Do link-ups if you love them or don't. Don't be afraid to read a lot of blogs and only have a few followers. Do blogging for YOURSELF and NO ONE ELSE :)

5. Biggest blogging learning experience you've had?
- How close you can become with blog friends. When I put my plea out there for a new design Katie came up with the idea right away and helped me so quickly. I've also learned that you won't agree with a person's ideas but you can still love their blog.

 6. Give us 3 blogs we NEED to be following that you love.
- Check out yesterday's post here :)

Shout Out Saturday!

Good Afternoon Friends!!

Right now I am most likely here. Hi, I'm Elle and I'm a work-acholic. Cue the "Hi Elle".

Anyways I'm super excited to write this post and link it up with Cait! I LOVE reading her posts and with our love of books I know I can always go to her for an awesome recommendation :)

So with Shout Out Saturday you give your fave bloggers a nice little shout out... this is brilliant because now we can ALL become fast friends and have EVEN MORE blogs to read :)

Obviously I have to include Cait on this. She is a bloggerspiration and her posts are funny! Plus her wedding pictures are to die for... I stalk them daily ;)

Then there is Leslie. She is beautiful, amazing writer, student, and all around such an inspiring person. She was my first "lifestyle" blog read and I love emailing her and stalking her blog :)

And there is Janae. She is a runner turned mommy and all around hilarious. I ALWAYS go to her blog for a good laugh and look at adorable baby pictures. She founded my interest in Cafe Rio and Yogurtland. She is a candy lover too! Check her out... now please :)

Last, but certainly not least is Christine. She is number 1 in my book for so many reasons... she is my dearest friend, carpool buddy, fellow teacher, funny, an amazing wife and mom to furbabies. She is also a great writer and has the craziest stories to share. I don't know how she does it because I'm with her for some of them but they just aren't as funny unless she retells them. Please show her some love :)

Link-up and share who your favorite bloggers are so we can be friends!

Morning Person & Geekdom

Good Morning Friends!!

I am such a morning person. Seriously, it's SATURDAY and do I sleep in? No. My body was up and awake at 6 am. I called my sister to talk (it's 9 am her time... I'm not that mean!). Then I put on some Pandora, read emails, read blogs, and pinned my little heart away.

I'm a major geek. I own up to it. I love to read. I visit the library at least once a week. I don't know how I could teach without a library. When I get emails saying my books are in I flip out with excitement. #trueconfession.

I also love breakfast. During the week it's usually a Clif bar or something on the go, but on the weekends I can do cereal mixes! WinCo is the best place for single women because of their bulk bins. I got 3 different types of cereal without having to buy the whole box!! In today's mix was peanut butter granola, frosted mini wheats, and museli with blueberries. Delish!

I'm also trying to get in more water. Living out in the desert is WAY different from Michigan. I need to hydrate constantly. In my "E" cup I have orange juice. I have no real glasses... who needs them when you have AWESOME ($1) cups?!

Another #trueconfession? I am off to work this morning and am EXCITED about it! My classroom needs some work done and I'm planning the rest of the month with another teacher on my team. I seriously love my job :) Plus there is a YMCA right by there and I have a FREE membership! PARRRTAYYY!!!

Be sure to check back later today for another post :)

Happy Saturday!

It's Ok Thursday

Hi Friends!

I'm linking up with Neely & Amber for "It's Ok" Thursday! I'm so happy it's Thursday (the end of the day too!) and tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! Cue Rebecca Black... got it in your head? ;)

It's Ok
I'm starting to REALLY miss home and wish that November would get here sooner!
That I'm being super strict with my kiddos right now... I'll be nicer later.
I really dispise writing negative parent emails :(
I lost a follower... hopefully I'll gain some new ones!
I'm completely ready for the weekend, even though it was a 4 day week
I ADORE Starbucks and spend too much $$ there
I bought 3 new pairs of shoes... I've worn all of them multiple times already
I'm completely addicted to  in love with  SongPop... My username is Elle1368... Play Me!
I need some bloggie inspiration
I really HATE political talk on Facebook... I really don't care about your political beliefs.
This is kind of a short post- it's 9:30 on Thursday night!
I love some of my blog/twitter friends so much I stalk them on a constant basis

I hope you all are ready for the WEEKEND!!

Now that I'm teaching (and so are all my other friends) I thought I would link up with MJ from Teaching in Heels for Teacher Tuesday!

Here are a few pics of my room!

So clearly I need to add some more things. I really want/need an animal print rug for my reading area. That is also the area I'm going to hang my Daily 5/Cafe Bulletin boards. I have a closet in the back of my room that is housing my books right now but it's loaded with storage from the school so I can't take pics.

I'm so excited to be getting more things for my classroom and will continue to post pics as I accomplish things!

Weekend Update+Birthday Weekend!!

Hi Friends!

It feels so weird to be typing a weekend post on a Monday but great at the same time! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I know mine was!

Sami's Shenanigan's Link Up

Friday was my Birthday! I'll be honest. I was kinda bumming because Christine hadn't mentioned it ALL WEEK. I thought I was going to be spending the night alone... but never fear she completely surprised me Friday morning!
We had cinnamon rolls and I opened gifts and cards from the cutest furbabies. Even Elsie TRIED to be nice!

So not only do I have a great friend but I also have awesome students and parents! I got so many goodies and I've only been their teacher for 2 weeks!
All the goodies (minus the cookies, brownies & starbucks giftcards)

a mom made this for me! I absolutely love it!!
If you remember from my last post my cutest little one G has been singing me birthday songs all week. I recorded one of them on Friday :)

After school Christine, Rex and I decided to go to Olive Garden for dinner. I was super excited about this because I never go here alone. It is a date place or family place or friend place but not a place where you sit down and read a book.

On the way I was telling Rex that I was bummed our friend Steven wasn't coming. He explained that he had a test earlier and was tired, I gave up trying to convince Steven to come (I had been texting him all afternoon). As we were driving Rex started acting weirder than usual... he suggested all these places we went by instead of Olive Garden. I figured "Oh well, it's the hunger that's making him crazy". When we got to Olive Garden, Christine and I unbuckled and started to get out when I heard "SURPRISE!". Umm have you ever been in a backseat with some dude yelling "Surprise?!" I FREAKED out. According to Rex I started twitching. It was STEVEN! Christine and I were so shocked that the boys pulled off the surprise! It was a dinner full of laughs and amazing food. I am so lucky to have them as friends!

Saturday was pretty low key. I slept in late and just hung around my place. Went to the library and Office Max. Later in the night Rex, Christine, Steven and I went to Tuoro University (where the boys go to school) and watched the Michigan game and Oregon game. We had pizza and I graded papers.
On Sunday I went to church, In n' Out Burger and go a pedi. I also cleaned and graded MORE papers (the work is never ending for a teacher)!
I don't think there's a good picture of feet anywhere!
Today I have completely enjoyed my day off. I worked out, laid by the pool, did some laundry and read. I haven't read a "fun" book in ages and it was so enjoyable! No I'm enjoying a Nestle Drumstick and watching last night's episode of Big Brother. P.S I'm so addicted to that show! The play that Dan did will go down in history and I really want Danielle and Shane to get together!

It was such a great birthday weekend and I hope your weekend was just as enjoyable :)
