5 For 5: Becoming a Better Me

Happy Monday! Ok that probably got a lot of eye rolls because who says "Happy Monday!"? Well, to me it's one more day I wake up and can live my life, I get to see my students and have them learn new things and it's one day closer to the weekend :)

Also, I get to link-up with Jenn & Jessica for 5 for 5!
Unfortunately I wasn't able to participate last week so I don't have any to reflect on. Let's get on to this weeks goals!

1) Workout at least 3x this week! I really think I can do this. I HAVE to do this for my health and sanity!

2) Blog, Blog, Blog! Even if I only do 2 blogs this week it is better than none. And I don't want to just "blog" but I want it to mean something... to someone, anyone.

3) NO SPENDING MONEY! On anything! I got all my groceries, I don't need anything for Halloween, and I don't have the money to spend anyways.

4) Write at least 3 letters. I've been putting this as a goal the last few times but I REALLY want to follow through with it this week. Please send me your address so you can get a fun card!

5) Pray/Bible study every night. I've really gotten away from my bible study these past few weeks. I pray every night and every morning but lately it's been for things and not being thankful. I need to get in the right mindset and be faithful every day, not just when its convenient for me.

What are your 5 goals for this week? Link-up and share!

Sunday Social-Halloween

Who's ready for the weekend to be over? Definitely not I! Today was relaxing and productive and I don't want it to be over! Here is a glimpse of my Saturday...

Have you linked up with Ashley & Neely for Sunday Social? You should... it's a party!

1. What was your favorite halloween costume as a kid?(pictures??)
Unfortunately I don't have any  pictures but I always enjoyed dressing up as a princess or a bride...

2. If you could go back and dress up as something what would it be?
I think dressing up like Minnie Mouse would always be fun

3. Favorite costume as an adult?(pictures)
I can honestly say I've never dressed up as an adult. I don't really care for Halloween...

4. Favorite Halloween Candy?
As a kid and even now I always loved getting the "fruity" candy. Dots, twizzlers, air heads... anything other than chocolate.

5. Favorite Halloween Memory?
Easily the year I was 13. I didn't go trick-or-treating but I had friends over for dinner, then we watched Halloween movies while our younger siblings went out for candy. Then we got to charge a candy fee for watching the house... it was so much fun.

6. Whats your favorite scary movie?
I don't care for scary movies but I love Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, and Charlie Brown Halloween.

Link up and share your Halloween fun!

Dear Friday...It's Nevada Day!

Do you ever have those days where taking a shower is the most productive thing you do? Yep today was one of those days for me. Now you see I usually don't do this. I don't lay in bed, go out to eat, lay in bed some more reading, take a nap, read some more, shower and eat dinner. HOWEVER... today was my day off. Yes, today is Nevada day!

Do you know what Nevada day is? I didn't either until Christine explained it to me today. Way back when Nevada became a state the powers that be decided to have October 31st be Nevada day. When citizens got tired of the day changing every year the new powers that be decided to make the Friday before Halloween be Nevada day, that made the citizens happy because it allowed them to have a long weekend. Now you can say you know what Nevada day is!

Moving on...

Once again I am linking up with Ashley for Friday's Letters. Enjoy!

Dear State of Nevada, thank you for having Nevada day. It allowed me to do nothing and still have 2 days off.

Dear Jenn, You are incredibly awesome and sweet. Thank you for mentioning me in your sponsor post!

Dear Students, You are amazing. You make me laugh constantly, feel loved, and your forever conversations are funny to listen to.

Dear Mom & Dad, I miss you. Tons. Thank you for everything you do for me.

Dear God, I look to you always. I especially need you now. It is by your mercy and grace that I am who I want to be.

Dear Friday

It's Friday! Remember the good 'ol days when ABC had their T.G.I.F night? I used to love having sleepovers with friends and we would watch the 2 hours of T.V and eat ice cream sundaes... can I go back to those times?!

This Friday I thought I would try something new. I'm linking up with Ashley for Friday's Letters!

Dear Friday,  I'm so thankful you are here! You seemed to take forever but you're here now and I'm going to celebrate :)

Dear Old Navy, Thank you for hiring me! If I had to get a 2nd job I'm glad it's working for you where I'm surrounded by cute clothes and get to meet some new people!

Dear Family,  I miss you all a ton and hope you have a wonderful time at the Bauer party. I so wish I could be there!

Dear Readers, Thank you so much for your sweet comments! I'll be responding back today. P.S message me your address so I can send you an awesome  card!

Dear Christine, you are an awesome friend. There is no one else I'd rather blare Hanson with!

Dear God, Thank you for always being there for me. There have been some struggles lately and I know I can always go to you. I also know that you have a plan for everything and I just need to be patient.

5 For 5: Week 1

Whoo hoo Monday is O-V-E-R!! I don't know about you but something is in the air here in Las Vegas (and not it's not the stench of one night stands and drunken frat boys). My kids were crazy today in class! Talking non-stop and oh so emotional! I'm really hoping they all get a good nights sleep and come back in better moods.

I'm so excited to be linking up with Jenn & Jessica for 5 for 5! I love Jenn's blog posts and she's such a sweet friend so you should definitely link-up with her! Plus she's doing an awesome giveaway to anyone who links!

To refresh your memory here is a recap of last week's goals. Pink are ones that were successful and Blue are ones that I need to work on...

1) I WILL blog 5/7 days this week. I really do love blogging and reading all the other blogs.... more on this later this week. ( I did 4 days which I'm very proud of!)

2) I WILL workout 5/7 days this week. It can be something as simple as walking but I really hope to get to the YMCA. (this one was an epic FAIL!)

3) I WILL stick to my budget! Another post later on... (Yay! I did this!)

4) I want to be really productive at work. I want to use my plan time effectively and my after school time so I can completely enjoy my weekend and get stuff around my apartment done. (I did this one too! It felt so good!)

5) This is really simple but I want to give myself a "relax" night. A night where I paint my nails and toe nails, maybe have a glass of wine and just relax. (Ummm I relaxed a little too much on this one... I feel asleep and got sheet marks all over my nails).

Here are this weeks goals...

1) Write & mail a postcard to someone every day. If you want a piece of friendly mail just email me your address :)

2) Sticking to my budget. This is REALLY important so it will be occurring on a weekly basis.

3) Work out AT LEAST 3x this week. I can do this. I just need to remember the end result.

4) Start & finish a new book this week. I used to FLY through books, couldn't put them down but now I hardly read. I want to start again.

5) Hopefully be working at Old Navy!! I got a phone call saying I made it through to the background checks! Fingers crossed!

What are your 5 goals for the week? Make sure you link-up!

Sunday Social: Favorite Books

Hi Peeps! It is 2 A.M, I babysat earlier in the evening and feel asleep. Then when I got home I had a candy apple. With Lots of sprinkles. Now I am too awake! What a better time to write my Sunday Social post!
Candy Apple Goodness!

This Weeks Questions:
1. Favorite childhood book: I Love You Forever, Babysitter's Club & Sweet Valley High

2 . Favorite Book lately: The most recent book I've been reading is City of Ember to my students and shockingly it's really good! Highly recommend it!

3. Book you wish you could live in: Anything by Emily Giffin or the Bride Quartet series by Nora Roberts because they are awesome books with great friends and come on anything by Nora Roberts is going to have a super cute prince charming :)
4. If you could be any character from a book who would it be and why? This one is easy. I would love to be Laurel from Savor the Moment because she gets to work with her best friends, falls in love her her childhood crush, and designs the most amazing baked goods.

5. Favorite Book turned Movie? A Walk to Remember. I cry EVERY TIME!

6. Favorite Magazines: Runner's World, People, Newsweek, and Cosmo for the hilarious, unrealistic stories!

"Its Ok" Thursday

First and foremost I want to say THANK YOU to all those who read my latest post on the blogging blues! It made my day to see the comments and that people feel the same way :)

"Its Ok"

That it is 61 degrees right now & I'm covered in a blanket drinking tea. Compared to 90 degree weather its cold.

I miss my Mom. She came to visit last week and I want her back, with the rest of my family. Now.

I love not having drama in my life. I choose to stay away from it. All of it.

Tomorrow is Friday and I couldn't be more excited!

I have to look for a 2nd job. I never said I went into teaching for the $$

I am loving the rainstorms that have been happening today and the cooler weather. It makes it feel more like Michigan.

That I'm going to totally ask you to donate to my Donor's Choose projects! Donor's Choose is this amazing website where I write grants for things my classroom needs. Then friends, family and random people can donate to it. Right now I have 2 projects up. PLUS THERE IS A MATCH CODE WHERE YOUR $ IS DOUBLED!!!
      - When you go to checkout enter PUMPKIN in the match code box and your money will then    double!

It is 9 p.m and I am going to enjoy my tea and read a good book then go to bed.

Sweet Dreams!

It's Getting Real

Alright so yesterday I mentioned how I've had an absence from blogging. I wish I could say I had missed it so much, that I love blogging and there was an emergency that prevented me from doing it or even that I'm sorry. But in all honestly I'm not.

Life has been good & crazy. I am loving my job but living 30 minutes away has me leaving at 6:30 am and not getting home till 5 or 5:30 pm. Add in an endless stream of papers, emails, etc I am tired and in bed by 9 or 9:30.

So back to blogging. I have 41 followers... I think maybe 1/2 read my blog. Which is totally cool and fine but it makes it hard to become inspired to write when you feel like no one is reading.

I feel like I couldn't be my completely true self. I would write a "What I'm Loving Wednesday" or "Oh How Pinteresting" posts and get 5 or 6 comments but then I write a post about a feeling and get NOTHING. So I kept doing "fluffy" posts & link-ups which got boring after awhile.

Now moving on to the future. I am going to start to be myself. I'm going to be honest, real, and not fluffy all the time. Sure I'll still do the fun posts but I'm going to keep it real too.

I really hope I keep the followers I have and hopefully gain some new ones.
