Pure Barre & Productivity

It is 9:30 am. I am on holiday break. Guess what time I got up?? 5:15 am!! Yep I decided that today I am going to be very productive.

First I took a 6am class at Pure Barre in Okemos. Holy Moly I am still shaking from this workout!! Pure Barre is a 1 hour class that uses exercises used by dancers to help tone and lift your muscles. My roommate takes this class often and recommend it. I will definitely be going back!!

I ran a few errands and by the time I got home I was starving! I quickly whipped up this whole wheat English muffin, egg, cheese, and Canadian bacon sandwich. It's filling without feeling like I have a brick in my stomach.

I am a list maker. I make lists for everything. While I was eating I came up with my lists for the day! Hopefully I can get everything done... I already have 2 items checked off my list :)

******************************************************************************
1) What is your typical wake up time?
     * During the week mine is 5:30, when I am on break it is between 7:30 and 8.

2) What is your favorite workout?
     * I've never been one for workout classes because I always feel embarrassed but Pure Barre totally changed that! I could do this workout 3-4 times a week :)

3) How do you make sure you're productive?
     * Lists are definitely my thing, I love checking off everything!

Is It Sunday Already?!

Guess what?! I'm officially on holiday break! A few words to describe my elation are Yippee! Whoo hoo!! Boom Chaka Chaka!! Yep you can say I'm completely ecstatic to be done with my master's classes and teaching for 2 whole weeks.

My break was kicked off by celebrating Christmas with my step-brother and sister-in-law. It was filled with lots of wine, presents and a super cute outfit that I put together for $10!

My Saturday was filled with my 2nd family. I babysit them all the time, have gone to Washington D.C with them to celebrate birthdays and anniversary, have seen the kids grow up and now the oldest son has a girlfriend!!

I did Paige's hair straight, mani and pedi... total "sisters" night!

The Kids decided to hijack my phone... this is what I found as my background! How cute!

My Sunday morning was filled with the usual: teach Sunday School. But then I got to go to my Grandma's in Dearborn Heights! We had her side of the family Christmas Party. It's always fun to have all of us get together. We went to All American Pizza, the pizza wasn't so good but the salad bar was amazing! Look at this beauty I made!

When I got home I was hungry but didn't want something really heavy. After going through the pantry I found a can of Campbell's Select Southwestern Corn Chowder, bread, and sliced cheese. Thus I had soup and grilled cheese!! I added cheez-its to my soup too!!

I still can't believe that it's Sunday but I'm so excited to spend this week finishing Christmas Shopping, babysit, and relax!!

*********************************************************************************

1) What do you love about family get togethers?
     * My Grandma's side of the family is huge ( she has 9 sisters and 1 brother!) so it's always fun to    see a bunch of us all at once.

2) What's your favorite quick and easy dinner?
     * Soup and grilled cheese is always a go-to for me. I added in black beans tonight and it was delish!

3) How are you going to enjoy your holiday break?

All Out Of Sorts

I am usually a positive, upbeat, happy person but lately I've been unraveling like this zebra. My body is feeling it and hating me. I am in a mental slump. I've been feeling it in my body for awhile. I'm feeling sluggish, tired, and blah. I've been working out daily but it just isn't helping.

I'm going through a lot of personal issues going on in my head. I'm feeling disappointed about everything I do and can't see the positive. I'm reading into other's emotions and taking them too personal.

Lately I've been really feeling that every day is like high school all over again. I was (and still am) the girl who loves to make everyone happy and puts myself last. I always tried to be involved but was often the one that became invisible. I'm feeling that way again and hate it. I'm in my 20s and shouldn't feel this way. I've tried to not "try" anymore and just have a bad day but then I get told that I am being rude. I just can't win.

Ok now that I've ranted I'm going to make a change. I was inspired by Paige over at Running Around Normal Post on negativity. She mentioned this book and how it helped so I downloaded it today and will be listening to it.

I've also made a list of people who are always there for me to rant to and I know will always support me. I am also listening to podcasts of sermons from Radiant Church and reading my bible more. I know that God is always there for me to turn to.

Hopefully all this will work, along with school and work being done this week! If you have any other suggestions please let me know :)
